Celebrating impressive growth amidst an uncertain 2016
The year 2016 has seen much uncertainty both in the UK and globally. Opinion polls predicting the outcomes of elections and referendums were proven inaccurate. The value of the British pound has wavered over the economic ambiguity stemming from the Brexit vote.
In the midst of this is the recent Autumn Statement announcement that economic growth has slowed in Britain and the finding by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) that optimism is at a four year low.
Yet, amongst all this uncertainty, our firm is proud to say that it has seen tremendous growth and is optimistic about the future. We even toasted the successful year at our annual Christmas party in Poundbury to which we invited our professional contacts and staff to come along and celebrate.
Sarah Heath, Head of Commercial Services, said: “We have seen an increased number of clients coming to us with concerns for advice in the current business environment. Having been able to achieve steady growth over the past few years, we are well equipped to guide them through any uncertainty they may have and can impart them with a strong sense of confidence moving forward.
The firm has seen an increase in turnover of 10 per cent on this time last year and a considerable 40 per cent increase over the last three years.
Our upturn in business has also sparked a recruitment drive that has led to a number of key staff additions including expert family law Solicitor, Clare Cherry, and residential conveyancing Senior Associate, Caroline Doman.
Jane Eldridge also joined as HR Manager to lead the innovative HR Consultancy service that was launched to support businesses with specialist advice and training for all staffing matters.
The new HR Consultancy reflects the growing demands of our widening client base, while also marking a change from traditional services usually offered by solicitors – something that can also be seen with the development of our financial services offering through which specialist advice is given.
Jerome Dodge, Principal and expert in Wills and Estate Planning, said: “The year has seen increasing demand for new personnel and services to meet growing business needs.
“We reacted quickly to the challenge, successfully bringing in new talented members of staff both to strengthen the expertise in existing services and to lead the launch of a new one. This has allowed us to retain our excellent personal client service along with seeing rapid growth as we continue to support people through the good and bad times.”
Our prominent growth and success has led us to be recognised by The Legal 500 as among the best firms in the UK. Four of our partners have been personally recommended for their expertise in commercial litigation, agriculture and personal tax, trusts and probate.
Solidifying our excellent reputation was a renewal of our accreditation as Investors in People, affirming the firm as a great and nurturing place to work and progress a career.
Principal, Alan Horne, added: “The Blanchards Bailey team has certainly thrived amongst what some may call an uncertain year. Our reliable counsel, positive results, professional expertise and strong culture have all contributed to our growth and our optimistic outlook for the future.”
