Top score for legal firm's charity quiz night
On Thursday 3rd March, Blanchards Bailey invited friends to get their thinking caps on for a quiz in aid of a local charity.
The quiz, held at Blandford British Legion Club, attracted over 70 people from Blandford and the surrounding areas, raising over £500 for the firm’s chosen charity, Blandford Opportunity Group.
Blandford Opportunity Group is a pre-school for children with special needs, and the Mayor of Blandford, Steve Hitchings, was in attendance for the first fundraising event the Dorset-based solicitor firm has hosted for its charity of the year as he is also a firm supporter of the charity.
The charity relies on the support of local businesses and Trainee Solicitor at Blanchards Bailey, Carla Phillips, said the quiz was a big success:
“The whole night went above and beyond our expectations. We’re thrilled we were able to raise such a significant amount of money for a local charity.”
In total, 12 teams entered the quiz, which comprised of friends and family of the Blanchards Bailey team and local businesses including estate agents, Vivien Horder.
Carla added: “We had great support from local businesses who donated some wonderful prizes for the raffle including boxes of chocolates from House of Sarunds, champagne from both Marks and Spencer and Goadsby estate agents, and a fantastic hamper from Tesco which was presented to the quiz winners.
“The sheer number of prizes meant that not many people left empty handed. We even presented wooden spoons to the team that finished last which highlights the fun atmosphere on the night.”
“We truly appreciate all the support we received from the local community and we’re already looking forward to the next event.”
The quiz winners, Quintus Arrius. Congratulations.
The wooden spoons went to Chalke Valley Misfits. Better luck next time.
